Awards and Scholarships for Students

Gargaon College also awards the following prizes and scholarships every year

Gargaon College provides Anuprerona Scholarship to five meritorious students from economically Backward Category. The total amount of the award is Rs. 15000/- (Rs. 3000/- each).
Bholanath Gogoi Memorial Academic Excellence Award is given to the Best Science and Arts Graduate from Gargaon College. Each award carries Rs. 5000/-. The donor of the award is Dr. Ranjana Gogoi, Associate Professor, Department of Statistics, Gargaon College.
Deokan Mahanta Memorial Award is sponsored by Dr. Arundhati Mahanta, Associate Professor (Retd), Department of Assamese, Gargaon College. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 5000/ and is given to the Best Arts Graduate of Gargaon College.
Gaurab Gogoi Memorial Award is given to students scoring highest marks in Botany and Economics. The donor of this award is Dr. Surajait Saikia. This memorial award carries a cash prize of Rs.3000/- per student.
Late Amulya Prasad Borgohain Memorial Award is given to a student from the Department of Political Science securing highest percentage in BA fourth semester exam. The award is sponsored by the family members of Late Amulya Prasad Borgohain. It includes a running trophy and a certificate.
Late Kushal Dutta Memorial Award is offered to a student from the Department of Political Science securing highest percentage in HS among the newly admitted BA First Semester students. The award is sponsored by family members of Late Kushal Dutta. It carries a running trophy and a certificate.
Late Nilamoni Gohain Memorial Award is given to a student from the Department of Political Science securing highest percentage in BA Final Exam. This award is sponsored by the family members of Late Nilamoni Gohain. It carries a cash prize of Rs. 3000/-.
Late Nitya Konwar Memorial Award is given to the student from the Department of Political Science securing highest percentage in BA second semester exam. The donor of the award is Archana Konwar, UDA, Gargaon College.
Late Phanidhar Gogoi Memorial Award is given to a student from the Department of Political Science securing highest percentage in BA Final Exam. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 2001/- and books worth Rs.1000/-. The award is donated by Yuvaraj Gogoi, Assistant Professor, Gargaon College in memory of his father.
Naina Mahanta Memorial Award was initiated by Dr. Arundhati Mahanta, Associate Professor (retired), Department of Assamese, Gargaon College. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 5000/- and is given to Highest Marks scorer in Assamese.
Punaram Gogoi and Jayadabala Gogoi Swarani Saikhik Bata was initiated by Dr. Monjumoni Gogoi, Associate Professor, Department of History, Gargaon College. The award is given to the Highest Marks scorer in History. It carries a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-.
Sidheshwar Dutta Memorial Academic Excellence Award is donated by Pankaj Dutta in memory of his father. The award carries a cash prize of Rs. 5000/- and is given to the rank holder among the top 10 positions of PGDCA examination.
Students’ Aid Fund is sponsored by Gargaon College. The scholarship is given to the meritorious students of economically backward category and it carries a grant of Rs. 10000/.
