Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application

Gargaon College started the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) course under Dibrugarh University in 2012. The course duration is one year and the intake capacity of the course is 50 students. The main objective of introducing the course in the college is to offer the facility to pursue computer education by the graduate students of the college and its nearby areas. The centre is planning to open up new courses such as BCA. B.Sc IT and short-term courses in the near future.

Gandhian Study Centre

Gargaon College established Gandhian Studies Centre in 2010. Initially, the Centre was sponsored by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under twelfth plan. The main objective of the centre is to provide a platform for discussion of Gandhian philosophy and its relevance in the present-day context. The centre organized many national seminars and workshops for academicians and research scholars to discuss Gandhian philosophy, rural development, women empowerment, etc. The centre also published different books on Gandhian philosophy and relevant areas.

Buddhist Study Centre

The Buddhist Studies Centre, Gargaon College was established under the UGC sponsored scheme of Epoch Making Social Thinkers of India, in 2010. Since its inception, the Centre has been actively involved in various academic activities. So far it has conducted two certificate courses on "Buddhism and its relevance" among the Degree Students. So far, 50 students from different academic backgrounds have completed the course. Besides this, the Centre has also conducted a survey on the socio-economic and cultural aspects of the Tai Khamyang tribe of Assam. The Centre has organised one national seminar on "Buddhism in Assam: It's past and present" on 31st July 2011. Altogether 55 research papers covering different aspects of Buddhism were presented during the seminar. The selected papers of the seminar were compiled as a proceeding volume titled "Buddhism in Assam: Past and Present" and published in 2014 by Purvanchal Prakash, Guwahati with Dr. Raktim Patar, Assistant Professor, Department of History as editor. It has been organising several Vipasana Meditation Workshops in collaboration with Solapathar Buddhist Monestary since 2011. It has also conducted field study tours for students. Presently, Dr Manjumoni Gogoi Dhar, Head, Department of History, is coordinating the Centre.

The career counselling and guidance cell, Gargaon College has been rendering its service for the betterment of the students after completion of their degree course or within. The main aim of the cell is to motivate the students to prepare for different career opportunities beforehand so that they can compete for various courses offering job opportunities. Besides, they are also informed about the courses that can be undertaken after completion of their graduation.

For doing so, various types of workshops and seminars have been organised time to time inviting experts from different fields.

Gargaon College established a Yoga Centre in 2021. The main aim of the Centre is to provide training on yoga, meditation and mental wellness.
