The Chemistry Department was established in the year 1959. The department has a strength of 6 experienced faculty members (Mmebers with Ph.D. 3,  M. Phil 1 and 1 pursuing Ph.D.).  The department  offers BSc. Chemistry Honours and BSc Generic courses. 

The library of Chemistry Department  has a good collection of text and reference books. Books are issued to all the department students. To keep students updated and to make classes more interesting the department uses smart classrooms, ICT tools, models and provide e-materials.

The faculties of Chemistry Department provide basic hands-on training on tools such as Microsoft word, PowerPoint presentation, excel, etc. of Microsoft office and their demonstration for seminar presentations.

Students are also updated and taught software application in chemistry like Chemdraw, ISIS draw, Avogadro, Chemsketch etc. for drawing chemical structures and chemical reactions.
