The Department of History was established in the year 1959. The department has a strength of 4 experienced Faculty Members  with  3 Ph.D., 2 M. Phil and 1    pursuing  Ph.D.  The Department  offers courses in H.S. and U.G.  (Major, Non-Major and Generic Subjects). The department has been conducting tree plantation drives time to time under Swasha Bharat Abiyans on different occasions. The department has a small museum containing more than 200 historical artifacts. The History Department has an Association in the name of Historical and Antiquarian Studies. The  Departmental Wall Magazine “Sati Joymati” is published annually by the students of the History Department. It focuses on various current issues, literature, and socio-economic, political and cultural aspects.
