The Geology Department was established in the year 1985.  The Department offers B. Sc. Honours & B. Sc. General course.  The department has a strength of 4 experienced Faculty Members with 2 Ph.D. and 2 M. Phil.  The  Department wall magazine "Pa-Hoi-Hoi" is published every year on Teacher’s Day. The department has an association named as Gargaon College Geological Forum.

The Department conducts field works and project works to enhance students’ practical skills and knowledge in Geoscience. The Department also conducts multidisciplinary national and international workshops and webinars in order to update the student’s knowledge in emerging fields of geoscience.
